New at this

What does one say on their first blog? Actually, second in this case as I wrote about Cicadas briefly. I have never had a potential world audience before, and any audience I HAVE had, I had focussed and direct content to convey (unless Im just unloading and rambling to a sister or friend, and I doubt the world needs all that info). I am still not sure why bloggers must blog- Why not just call your Mother or someone to vent, bounce your ideas, and so on. I understand the meeting of minds, and gaining higher level thinking, but I'm not sure you will find that here.

So that is my theme.. any thing you want to or have to ramble about. I love pet peeves and have a few: For one:
Drivers that just HAVE to speed up to tailgate when you pull out onto the road. ( they are far enough away when you pull out)

Cicadas vs. Computers

Yesterday I drove through the North Suburbs of Chicago and the drilling of the cicadas from the woods near the highway were so loud I could hear them through the closed windows and over the radio comedy program I had on. I opened the windows and it was incredibly beautiful to hear.
This is nature at its best- a 17 year routine that we humans can observe in wonder. There is so much to learn from observing these little critters. I hope that classrooms can learn about nature, and will through technology. But there is nothing like sitting and watching and listening to truly understand. Computers off. Ipods at home. Cell phones nowhere. A great learning space is created!
